OPEN STUDIO WEEK - ACROSS THE WAY STUDIOS
“Hi–Vis” is an exhibition and an open-studio week and in the Across The Way Studios, currently located in a Georgian farmhouse in Kinsealy, between Dublin and Malahide. Featured artists are Mark Beatty, Deirdre Byrne, Aileen Curtin, Francesca Dwane, James Kirwan, Marie LeMen, Tom McDonald, John O’Reilly, Christian Reeves and Derek Tannam. The Temple Bar traders association has created a project where all the traffic signal boxes will be covered with work from various artists. According to this clip on RTE it’s all thanks to people tagging the boxes. So if it wasn’t for graffiti the boxes would still look dull and grey. Most of the art work is shit so I’d love to see the entries that didn’t make the grade. Read more from the traders association here.
